2013 National Men's Health Gathering - Program Now Available

The 2013 National Men's Health Gathering has received overwhelming interest and it is with great pleasure that we now release the program.

  • As with previous Gatherings, the program is colour-coded to indicate the streams available on each day.
  • For cultural reasons, attendance at sessions designated for the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Male Health Convention, are restricted to men only, with the exception of the 0900 -1030 plenary session on Tuesday 22nd October. To accommodate women who have registered for the entire Gathering, we have introduced a special program on Tuesday - 'Working with Women in Men’s Health’, which is open to all registered delegates.
  • In response to the ongoing national gender debate, the AMHF is presenting its inaugural National Forum, ‘21st Century Man’ on Thursday 1100-1230. This Q & A - style event is not to be missed!
  • Your registration has more inclusions than ever before - the Cocktail Reception with Troy Cassar-Daley, the Awards Night Dinner and the Friday Gala Lunch with Peter FitzSimons.
  • With a diverse range of papers and workshops and an exciting social program for networking, this year’s event will be the most significant men's health and well being conference in the world.

Here are 4 important men's health things we think you should know about...

From the Men's Health Information and Resource Centre at the University of Western Sydney.

2013 is shaping up to be a huge year for people working in male health. There's plenty on!

1. The eternal question: how do we get men to become involved in programs?

Not surprisingly, this is one of the most common questions as organisations consider how to meet the health needs of males. Engaging Men is an important training event to be held in Newcastle on March 14 and 15.

At just $400 for a full two-day program, you'll come away being a better worker with an improved ability to reach out to men and help them help themselves. It's the kind of event that will pay for itself just in improved attendance at your own events (think Men's Health Week)!
