Masters Degree in Family Studies

The Family Action Centre in conjunction with Interrelate Family Centres is developing a Masters Degree in Family Studies. They would like this program to assist you to meet your organisation's changing needs for qualified staff, and to be relevant and applicable to many different professions employed in your sector. They have developed a short survey consulting with organisations and individuals about the needs for post graduate qualifications in the sector.

Sex discrimination at London School of Economics (UK)

Tom Martin is making headlines around the world for bringing a £50,000 sex discrimination lawsuit against the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE), claiming its gender studies Masters programme he enrolled on consistently promotes biassed, female victim-hood stories, blaming men, in order to justify ignoring male equality debates like those brought by the fathers' rights movement.

Tom discusses his case on A Voice for Men radio, and appears in an explosive new youtube video, asking LSE students if discrimination against men in a gender studies course is ever justifiable, as the university's defence team now argue. Some LSE students are immediately hostile on camera, one declaring “There's no discrimination against men!” - her outburst juxtaposed by a fast-scrolling 160 item A to Z list of discrimination issues faced by males. Other students agree with Tom's complaint, one quietly admitting “I've been here for three years and never heard or read of a study about equal rights or equal opportunities for men, so definitely, there's a case there.”

The fundamental objective of the Foundation for Male Studies is to foster intellectually rigorous and groundbreaking research on the state of males around the world. The discovery and communication of new knowledge is the core of its mission. Through the creation of comprehensive programs and curricula at major research universities, the Foundation will address the gap in scholarship and scientific research that exists between the study of males and females, while investigating, reporting on, teaching about and leading an international dialogue regarding the state of males within disciplines including biology, sociology, literature, economics, law, political science, public policy, psychology, anthropology, medicine and education.
